Mark Leahy

Mark is a capital markets expert with 27 years’ experience in the banking industry; holding senior
positions for global investment banks such as Deutsche Bank, UBS, Nomura International and HSBC.
Throughout his career, he has raised over US$100 billion for clients with a key focus on High Yield
and growth capital, as well as managing large primary bond and loan books.

Beyond banking, Mark has Board level experience in listed companies in the resources sector in
Australia and Singapore, including hands-on balance sheet restructuring expertise. One of his more
recent roles as a partner in boutique private equity firm Presidio Capital – where he advised existing
and potential portfolio companies on strategy, M&A and finance.

Currently, Mark is the Head of Fixed Income at the Singapore Exchange (SGX). He has also been
representative of the National Association of Securities Dealers in the US, a representative of the UK
Financial Services Authority and has held Capital Markets Services and Advisory licences from the
Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

His own personal portfolio of private equity investments focuses on the renewable, clean tech and
FinTech sectors.

Aside from his corporate finance career, Mark is also the co-founder and Executive Director of
personal development business, Legacy Retreats, and has been owner of a boutique vineyard in
rural Australia.

Mark has a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Accounting) from the University College Dublin. He
possesses Irish and British citizenships and is a permanent resident in Singapore and Australia.

Desmond Sheehy

Des is a seasoned investor with experience across a number of investment classes and jurisdictions.
He began his career as an engineer, but after 10 years and obtaining an MBA at INSEAD, he joined
the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in 1999 as an Investment Officer; where he focused on
investments in East Asia.

In 2005, Des joined Deutsche Asset Management (DeAM) in Singapore to set up an alternative asset
group, Complex Asset Group (CAG) which focused on investing in Vietnam as well as the agriculture
and wine sectors. During his time there, the group raised and invested over US$700 million.

Later in 2009, the CAG ‘spun’ out of DeAM to form Duxton Asset Management – with Des as the
Managing Director and CIO. Duxton Asset Management managed the legacy assets of the CAG and
added several additional mandates, in addition to expanding in both Australia and Germany. In 2019,
Des decided to step down from an executive role within Duxton group. Although he remains a
director of a number of Duxton-invested companies, he is currently focused on mentoring a number
of early stage companies in the human capital, MedTech, machine learning and education sectors.

Brian Wood

Brian Wood is a professional with over 20 years of experience in investment management
and capital markets – at both by-side and sell-side firms as well as operating companies.

He began his career as an equity research analyst at San Francisco based investment bank
Hambrecht & Quist, where he covered Special Situations, worked on over 40 IPOs and
secondary raises, and published equity research regularly. Brian then spent eight years as a
senior analyst at a US$5 billion AUM New York-based hedge fund focusing on long/short
equity, capital structure arbitrage, and high-yield/distressed debt investments. He has also
managed debt capital markets for a Singapore-based aircraft lessor Avation PLC and
successfully guided their inaugural public bond issuance.

Brian graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Lafayette College, New York and
holds an MBA from Columbia University, New York.

Jen Smirnova

Jen possesses seven years of experience working in structured finance and securitisation
across Europe and Russia.

She began her real estate finance career at Dynamic Credit Partners in Amsterdam in 2010,
working on mortgage-backed securities. Later, she became structured finance securitisation
specialist at Moody’s Investors Service in London, where she brought to the market US$11
billion worth of asset-backed commercial papers (ABCPs), residential mortgage-backed
securities (RMBS) and repack transactions. After four years at Moody’s, Jen joined Morgan
Stanley as a Commercial Real Estate Banker, where she helped clients raise US$4.8 billion in
debt financing between 2015 and 2017.

At BB Capital Partners, Jen brings to the team her expertise in syndicated loans, commercial
real estate lending, structured finance and securitisation.

Jen holds a Bachelor of Science in International Finance and Economics, as well as an Master
of Science in Finance, from the University of Amsterdam.
